The NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) in collaboration with AARP developed the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists (CAPS) program to meet the increasing demand by seniors and baby boomers for barrier-free living environments.  SOS, Safety Outfitting Services is CAPS Certified. This program is designed to teach individuals involved in residential design and construction about the requirements of older adults who are balancing current and future needs for autonomy and independence with equal desires for safety and security. WE TAKE THIS PERSONAL

SOS is a family owned and operated company, with a construction background of 20+ years. We have decided to take on the safety outfitting service after experiencing the need firsthand. Recently, a close, longtime family friend was unexpectedly diagnosed with Lung cancer.   This cancer was a rapid debilitating disease and therefore immediate service was needed for modifications to a two story level home to ease everyday living.  Also, one of our SOS family members was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease that requires home modifications in a progressive manner. We have truly seen the necessity for a service such as this and understand those who are in need of help. In addition to unexpected needs, comes the ever aging population brought on by advances in Science, medicine and Health technology. No matter the circumstance or reason for needing home modifications, SOS is here to help you and your loved ones stay “Home for a Lifetime”.
